- A shared calendar so meals and sitting nights are claimed, not assumed
- A group fund for the boring stuff — car seats, diapers, school shoes

- Host families rarely ask for help. Offer specific dates instead of "let us know."
- The kids in the house are in crisis, not on display. No photos, no names online.
- Support them past week three. That's when the casseroles stop and the hard part starts.
