- A caseworker or agency contact who knows the kid
- A card, or payment straight to the league, camp, or music store
Pitfalls
- Pay the organization directly. Handing cash to a foster family puts them in a bad spot with the agency.
- Ask what the kid picked, not what you'd pick. The point is that they got to choose.
- Cover the whole season, including the away-game fees nobody mentions up front.
