Stay Past Year One
Everyone shows up for the first anniversary. Set the reminders out ten years and keep bringing flowers in year four, when the calendar is empty.
What you'll need
- A repeating annual reminder, set to never end
- Flowers, or a text with his name in it, on the date
- His birthday too, which almost nobody remembers by year three
Pitfalls
- Say his name. People stop, and the silence is its own loss.
- Don't ask if she wants company. Show up, bring something, and leave when she's ready.
- Keep it small and repeatable. A text every year beats a big gesture once.
