Most people pass by because they don’t know what to do. A kit in your trunk replaces β€œshould I?” with β€œhere, I made this for you.”

Hand it to the person, say their name, and drive on. The whole encounter takes ninety seconds. You will think about them for the rest of the day. That, too, is part of being formed.

What you'll need

What to say

Roll down the window. Look the person in the eye. "I made this for you. There's some food, water, socks, and a gift card in here. I hope it helps. What's your name?" Listen for the answer. Use it when you say goodbye.
