SMS Programs — by 45 Book Summaries

Last updated: June 3, 2026

1. Overview

45 Book Summaries operates a set of opt-in Application-to-Person (A2P) SMS programs. Messages are generated and dispatched programmatically by our backend application; no human composes or sends individual messages. Each program is separate and individually opt-in — joining one does not enroll you in any other. This policy applies to all of them:

  • Habit Builder — a 30-day, two-way habit-coaching program. After you set a goal, choose your reminder days and time, our application sends scheduled prompts and, when you reply, generates an automated coaching response. Opt in at 45booksummaries.com/develop-resilience/takeaways/habit-builder/. The program ends automatically after 30 days.
  • 30-Day Gratitude Journal — a 30-day, two-way program that sends a daily prompt asking you to text three things you are grateful for, returns an automated reflective response, and sends a short recap at the end of each week and at the end of the 30 days. Opt in at 45booksummaries.com/regulate-your-emotions/takeaways/gratitude-journal/. The program ends automatically after 30 days.
  • Family Events — an informational program delivering family-friendly activity suggestions and reminders. Opt in at 45booksummaries.com/nurture-your-kids/takeaways/family-events/.

For the Habit Builder and Gratitude Journal programs, the service is automated two-way conversational messaging: our application receives your replies and generates an automated response. It is not a live person-to-person chat — no human reads or answers your messages individually.

2. Information We Collect

To operate these automated A2P SMS programs, we collect and store the following:

  • Mobile phone number — provided by you when you opt in through the relevant program's web form
  • Opt-in metadata — which program you joined, the timestamp of opt-in, the opt-in source URL, the IP address used to submit the web form, and a record of the affirmative consent checkbox and its exact wording
  • Program preferences — for Habit Builder: the habit you entered and your chosen schedule (days, time, frequency); for the Gratitude Journal: your chosen daily prompt time; for Family Events: your ZIP code (used to suggest family events near you) and, if voluntarily provided, the general age range of children
  • Inbound message content — for the two-way programs (Habit Builder and Gratitude Journal), the content of the replies you send (for example, your habit check-ins or the things you list that you are grateful for), so the application can generate a relevant automated response and your weekly and end-of-program recaps
  • Outbound SMS dispatch metadata — a record of automated messages sent, delivery status, and timestamps
  • Compliance keywords — recognized keywords (STOP, STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, QUIT, REVOKE, OPTOUT, HELP, INFO, START) used to manage your subscription

3. How We Use Your Information

Your information is used solely to operate the program(s) you opted into: to dispatch your scheduled prompts and reminders, to generate automated responses to your replies, to produce your weekly and end-of-program recaps, and to honor opt-out, help, and re-subscription requests. For the two-way programs, the content of your replies is processed by an AI service to compose a relevant automated response (see Section 4). Your data is never used for marketing of unrelated products, advertising, profiling, resale, or any analytics purpose beyond what is necessary to operate and improve these programs.

4. Information Sharing & Third Parties

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with any third parties for their own purposes. The following service providers process data strictly as needed to deliver the service:

  • Cloudflare — application hosting and database infrastructure
  • Twilio — SMS message delivery
  • DeepSeek — AI processing of message content to generate automated responses and recaps for the two-way programs

These processors handle data only as necessary to provide their respective services and are bound by their own privacy policies.

SMS consent and mobile information. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information sharing to subcontractors in support services, such as message delivery via Twilio or automated message processing via DeepSeek, is permitted solely to operate the service. All other use case categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

5. Data Storage & Security

Data is stored in a secure Cloudflare D1 database. Access is restricted to the service operator. We take reasonable measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, alteration, or destruction.

6. Data Retention

Phone numbers and opt-in records are retained while your subscription is active. For the 30-day programs, your reply content (habit check-ins or gratitude entries) is retained for the duration of the program so we can generate your weekly and end-of-program recaps, after which it may be deleted. If you opt out by texting STOP, your phone number is removed from the active sending list for that program immediately. You may request full deletion of associated data at any time by contacting the operator.

7. Your Choices & How to Opt Out

  • Text STOP to the program's number at any time to unsubscribe and stop receiving messages from that program.
  • Text HELP for assistance or support information.
  • Contact the service operator directly to request deletion of your data.

Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies by program (see Section 9).

8. Consent

By opting in to one of these programs through its web form — where you must affirmatively check an unchecked-by-default consent checkbox — you consent to receive recurring automated A2P SMS messages from 45 Book Summaries for that specific program, as described in this policy. Consent to one program is not consent to any other. Consent is not a condition of any purchase or service. You may revoke consent at any time by texting STOP, STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, QUIT, REVOKE, or OPTOUT.
